Greetings BCHS Bear Family,
We are looking forward to another successful week at Burke County High School. Please review the following celebrations, events, and important reminders.
National Arts in Education Week | September 14–18
Our Fine Arts Department is excited to celebrate National Arts in Education Week at BCHS! Throughout the week, students will showcase various content areas through a variety of engaging formats.
We are also honored that the Mayor of Waynesboro will issue a special proclamation recognizing National Arts in Education Week during a brief ceremony and photo opportunity in the BCHS auditorium on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, | 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Fine Arts Student and Parent Meeting | Tuesday, September 15, at 6:00 p.m.
All 11th- and 12th-grade Fine Arts students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend an informational meeting in the BCHS auditorium. We will discuss the criteria for earning the Fine Arts Diploma Seal and completing a Fine Arts pathway.
Cap and Gown Order Day | Thursday, September 17, from 3:00–7:00 p.m.
Members of the Class of 2027 will have an opportunity to place their cap and gown orders after school. Seniors and their families are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as we continue preparing for graduation.
September PBIS Attendance Challenge
Our September PBIS Attendance Challenge encourages students to show up and be on time! Students who achieve perfect attendance or zero tardies during September will earn a PBIS incentive. Please encourage your student to successfully complete one—or both—of these challenges.
Underclassmen Picture Makeups | Wednesday, October 14
Underclassmen picture makeups are scheduled during first block. Pictures are tentatively planned to be taken on the blue floor in the gym area, pending final approval. Additional information will be shared as the date approaches.
Daily Attendance Reminder
School begins promptly at 7:50 a.m. each day. Please continue encouraging students to arrive on time, attend school consistently, and come prepared to learn. Every day of instruction matters, and regular attendance plays an essential role in student success.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Burke County High School. Together, we are creating an environment where every student can learn, grow, and build their best future.
