IBCP Students Shine at Youth Assembly 

Congratulations to the IB Programme for the decision to start a Gavel Club. The club mission is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
 

Wyatt Alley was sworn in by his dad as a City Council Member.  His dad serves as mayor.  Wyatt is a graduate of the IB Programme, and he continues to serve the programme through community service.  Congratulations, Wyatt!

IBCP Students Shine at "Be the People" Assembly!

The International Baccalaureate Career-Related Program (IBCP) is moving, and we couldn’t be prouder! Mr. Kennedy and Mrs. Green recently guided four exceptional students—Carlos Burnett, Diaundre Mitchell, Trayonna Jones, and Aislinn Helton—to the inspiring "Be the People" Assembly.

This impactful event, hosted by Project Be the People, immersed students in civic leadership and engagement. Through the Congressional Academies, they gained hands-on experience with governmental systems, fostering a deep understanding of civic processes. More than just learning about democracy—they lived it.

From breaking down the complexities of government to forging connections with influential decision-makers, this assembly dismantled barriers and empowered these students to embrace their roles as changemakers. They are left with enriched civic knowledge, a stronger identity, and a renewed drive to make meaningful community contributions.

With fresh inspiration and leadership skills, these students are ready to bring bold ideas back to Burke County High School. IBCP is on the rise—prepare for a brighter future led by these outstanding leaders!
