Return to School Questions & Answers

Header pic

We understand that Burke County Public School families and staff have many questions regarding our return to school for the fall semester. Through parent and staff feedback, the work of our COVID-19 Task Force, as well as continued guidance from the Georgia Department of Health and the CDC, we are preparing to safely reopen Burke County Public Schools for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Return to School Detailed Plan

Pic of flier announcement

The health, safety, and well-being of students and staff remains a top priority as we continue to plan for reopening schools on August 17. It is critical to balance the risk of direct infection and transmission of COVID-19 with the impact of school closures on students’ physical and mental health. Clearly, we would like to have students back in traditional class this August with school every weekday and regular social interaction, and we recognize that anything less places a
burden on our guardians who work outside the home. Current evidence supports that our students can return to school in a carefully structured manner that minimizes risks from a public
health perspective. We also realize that there are medically fragile and at-risk populations, causing some degree of uncertainty about returning to school. Our COVID Task Force has taken these and other factors into consideration and developed the following plan.

BCHS Advance Placement 2-D Art and Design Portfolio Showcase 2020

Important: Because of school closures due to COVID-19, the requirements for the 2020 AP 2-D Art and Design portfolio have changed. Get the details at Taking AP Exams Online. Note that these changes to the 2020 portfolio requirements may not be reflected on all AP Students pages. This course seeks to develop skills in a two-dimensional medium such as graphic design, photography, collage, printmaking, and others as the student learns the principles of 2-D design. Students created artworks that reflect his or her own ideas and skills and what they've learned throughout the year.
