Welcome to Burke County High School! I am Dr. Justin Durham, and I am honored to serve as your principal. Returning to Burke County High School is truly a privilege, and I am excited to partner with our students, families, faculty, staff, and community for a successful school year.
As I begin my 21st year in education, I remain committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed. At Burke County High School, we are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students are prepared to be successfully enrolled, employed, and/or enlisted after graduation.
We believe that student success is built through strong partnerships between home and school. I encourage you to stay engaged, communicate with us, and become an active part of the Burke County High School family. If you ever have questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Both new student registration and annual returning student updates may be completed online. The online returning student annual verification process replaces all of the paper forms that have traditionally been sent home at the beginning of each school year and ensures the information is updated in a more timely manner.
NEW STUDENTS
Online registration is for NEW students enrolling in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
RETURNING STUDENTS
Burke County Public Schools requires all parents/legal guardians of returning students to complete an online Student Information Update.

Safety is our top priority. We have secure campus entry points, regular emergency drills, and on-site staff trained in emergency response. Our visitor management system ensures that all guests are signed in and monitored.

Our elementary school day typically begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m., with after-school programs available for families needing extended care.

Registration is straightforward and can be done online or in person at the school office. Required documents include proof of residence, birth certificate, and immunization records.

We welcome family involvement! Parents can volunteer in classrooms, join the PTA, participate in family nights, or attend school events. Your involvement strengthens our school community and supports your child's learning experience.
