Mr. Maurice Boyd, Assistant Principal, Burke County High School

 

As Assistant Principal at Burke County High School, my mission is to help build a school environment where all students can succeed, and every teacher feels supported, valued, and empowered. I believe in the power of culture and climate to shape success, and I will work every day to ensure our school is a place where excellence is not just expected but achieved together.

 

My leadership is guided by a deep belief in collaboration, student advocacy, and professional support. I am committed to fostering a culture of open communication, where teachers feel heard, students feel seen, and families feel welcomed. I strive to be a bridge between all stakeholders, creating unity in purpose and action across our school community.

 

With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice/Public Administration, and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I bring both practical experience and academic insight to my role. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction to further strengthen my ability to lead instructional excellence and drive meaningful student outcomes.

 

At the core of my approach is a mindset of continual growth and shared accountability. I often say: Set the bar. Meet the bar. Exceed the bar. Raise the bar. This isn’t just a motto, it’s a mindset. It reflects my commitment to elevating expectations, encouraging progress, and creating a school culture where every effort contributes to a greater purpose.

 

At BCHS, I will continue to be a tireless advocate for students, a steady support system for teachers, and a collaborative leader who believes that the best outcomes come when we all rise together.
