The health, safety, and well-being of students and staff remains a top priority as we continue to plan for reopening schools on August 17. It is critical to balance the risk of direct infection and transmission of COVID-19 with the impact of school closures on students’ physical and mental health. Clearly, we would like to have students back in traditional class this August with school every weekday and regular social interaction, and we recognize that anything less places a
burden on our guardians who work outside the home. Current evidence supports that our students can return to school in a carefully structured manner that minimizes risks from a public
health perspective. We also realize that there are medically fragile and at-risk populations, causing some degree of uncertainty about returning to school. Our COVID Task Force has taken these and other factors into consideration and developed the following plan.
