Frequently Asked Questions about Prom

Q:  I bought tickets for myself and a date for Prom. What is included in that price?

A:  Prom tickets allow students/couples to participate in both Grand March and Prom. The ticket price contributes to the cost of labor (food services, custodians, security, maintenance, etc), elaborate decorations (stage and mall area), prom favors, and food.

QDo I need to buy Grand March tickets for my parents?

A:  Yes, all attendees will need Grand March tickets; they can be purchased in advance

QMy parent wants to bring my six-month-old baby brother to watch me at Grand March.  Do I need to buy a Grand March ticket for him too?

A:  No, babies carried in a parent’s arms do not require tickets.

QWhy do people have to pay to watch Grand March?

A:  All money collected from Grand March is deposited in the Prom account, which helps to offset costs accrued in hosting an event THIS size. Charging admission at Grand March allows us to keep your ticket sales affordable and, more importantly, it gives us a “working” budget that allows us to refrain from charging junior/senior class dues, as well as requiring mandatory fundraising efforts.

QI want to make sure that the picture taken of me at Grand March is clear.  What do I need to do on stage to make that happen?

A:  The floor will be marked. Make sure you and your date stand still at the marked spot(s) and look up and smile before moving off the stage.

QWill there be a photographer set up at Prom?  Do I need to sign up for a picture time? How much do pictures cost?

A:  No signing up for picture times.  There will be a photographer set up at Grand March to take a picture of every student/couple who walks across the stage.  Afterwards, he/she will move into the Prom area to begin taking candid pics of anyone who wants them. All pictures are FREE and will be available for viewing on Facebook.

QWhen I will get to see the pictures from Grand March and Prom?

A:  Within a week’s time, all pictures will be uploaded to Facebook. Make sure you follow the BCHS Yearbook page so that you will be notified when they are available.  You should be able to download the copies you want as well as tag yourself so others can see them.

QWhat do I need to bring to prom to check in?

A:  A picture ID for both you and your date.  We must verify that you are who you say you are and that you are bringing the date whose name was submitted and approved in advance.

Q: What happens if I forget to bring an ID to check-in?

A:  For security reasons, you will be turned away at the door, meaning you will not be allowed to participate in Grand March or Prom.
