Introduction

Good day students and parents! My name is Jesse Ruffin. I'm the cybersecurity teacher in Burke County High School. This is my 3rd year in education and 2nd year in Burke County.

I graduated in Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Interactive Design/Game Development. I have good experience with coding and cybersecurity skills.

Technology is "easy to use but hard to learn" type of subject. There's more details in technology that majority would not understand or remember fully, but I do do my best to get to the point where my students understand.

I teach the Cybersecurity pathway where students will understand why we need to protect our information from any cyber threat or attack, discuss about variety of strategies from environment or person and discover latest trends that is happening as we speak. I teach four classes which are:

  • Introduction to Hardware Technology
  • Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Advanced Cybersecurity

As a CTSO, I am part of BCHS Future Business Leadership of America (FBLA) where we help with communities, participate in community events and volunteer in programs.

I'm happy to be in Burke County High School and can't wait to teach you all about technology and the magnificent world of cybersecurity!
