Constitution of Poised and Polished Etiquette Club


Preamble:

  • We, the members of Poised and Polished, establish this constitution to promote the development of personal etiquette, social grace, leadership, respect, and goal-setting skills among young women. 
  • We aim to empower and inspire girls to carry themselves with respect, poise/self-control, integrity, awareness of language/word choices and confidence in all aspects of life, and become leaders of the future in accordance with our mission and vision.
  • Club colors - Green, Purple and White

Mission

  • The mission of Poised and Polished is to empower young women with the skills and confidence to navigate social, academic, and professional environments with grace, confidence, and respect. 
  • Through engaging workshops, mentorship, meetings and goal-setting activities, we aim to foster a strong sense of self-worth, leadership, and etiquette.

Vision

  • Our vision is to inspire a generation of young women who are poised, polished, and purpose-driven, excelling in personal and professional endeavors. 
  • We strive to equip our members with the tools to set and achieve meaningful goals, cultivate positive relationships, and make impactful contributions to their communities and schools/educational environments.
  • To recognize outstanding achievements and/or goals met by the young girls/ladies in the Poised and Polished club.

Eligibility

  • Membership is open to all female students who are interested in developing their etiquette, leadership, and personal growth skills. 
  • Any student who aligns with the values of Poised and Polished may join, regardless of academic standing, background, or prior experience. However, there are Expectations members are required to work on such as Self Improvement: attitude, grades, appearance - smiling, clothes, hair, make-up, hygiene, language,exercise etc…and undesirable behaviors.

Membership Requirements


  • Members must attend at least 75% of the scheduled meetings and events/activities  per semester.
  • Members are encouraged to participate in club activities, including workshops, service projects, and mentoring opportunities. Members can make suggestions or requests for the above activities. Advisors, officers and ambassadors will discuss and approve the best/appropriate/affordable of the above. 
  • Meetings will begin promptly in / with the ‘circle of growth’ of all officers and members: established and new and advisors. This shows Unity, Growth, Acknowledgment and Build Relationships in the club. 

All members must uphold the values of respect, kindness, and professionalism both within and outside the club.

Officers and Leadership

Officer Positions

  • The leadership team shall consist of the following positions, which will be held by members who have demonstrated dedication, progression, academics and leadership qualities: as paid members (current) and possibly recommended.

  1. President: Oversees the operations of the club, chairs meetings, and ensures that the mission and vision of the club are upheld with the assistance when / if needed by club adult advisors
  2. Vice President: Assists the President, coordinates club events, and assumes leadership duties in the absence of the President.
  3. Secretary: Keeps minutes of meetings, manages club communications: may inform, notify and send out messages, take photos and maintain attendance records.
  4. Treasurer: Manages the club’s finances, including budgeting for events and ensuring funds are spent in alignment with the club’s goals and maintaining the current balance of the club. Also, assist with dues to be paid and MUST display/maintain honesty and integrity. If this becomes/suspected an issue or problem the officer will be removed from the position after conversation with the president and advisors.
  5. Goal-Setting Coordinator: Guides members in setting and tracking personal and academic goals, ensuring that goal-setting is a central activity in all club meetings and helps with club activities: organization, recommendations, execution and follow up with activities.

Election of Officers


  • Elections for officer positions shall be held annually at the beginning of the school year.
  • Members may self-nominate or be nominated by others.
  • Officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote of active members with the completion of an application and academic transcript and 2 recommendations. Which will be reviewed by club advisors to be able to  move forward with the election process.

Term of Office


  • Officers shall serve for a term of one academic year.
  • Officers may be re-elected for additional terms if they are in good standing/current dues and show continued leadership, academic above average performance, and  NO MORE than ONE NON MAJOR disciplinary action during the school year (ALL need a second chance).
Activities and Programs
  • Poised and Polished shall host etiquette workshops on topics such as communication skills, grooming and hygiene, overall cleanliness, team building, respect for self and others, student leadership and beyond, group activities, goal setting, networking, professional dress, public speaking, etc.
  • Poised and Polished members shall show “Grace and Glam on Thursdays of every week for Professionalism Day within the club.

Goal-Setting Sessions


  • Regular goal-setting sessions shall be incorporated into meetings, where members are guided in setting short- and long-term goals for personal, academic, and professional development.

Service Projects


  • Members shall participate in at least one service project each semester that aligns with the club’s vision of empowering oneself, young women and promoting leadership.

Pledge

We lift each other up, support each other when needed, show love and kindness, respect each other's differences and grow in knowledge, understanding and grace.

Meetings


Meetings shall be held bi-weekly, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary for special events, workshops, or projects.
Meetings will be held mostly/mainly be held at school but maybe held outside of school (Activity or Event).
