American Literature (General) (Section 6th Pd)

Course Description

 

This course is designed to further increase the student’s knowledge of English grammar, usage, and mechanics in relation to expository, descriptive, narrative, and persuasive writing. Informal essays, business letters, literary analyses, and a research paper adhering to MLA guidelines will be written. Additionally, vocabulary development and test-taking strategies are emphasized. The ideals, goals, and values of American heritage are also examined through a chronological study of the major classical and contemporary works of American literature.
