Independent Study
Students had to transform sentences written in the Present Tense in Spanish into the Preterite Tense in Spanish. Essentially they are only changing the verb to reflect the past tense endings. In addition, they also had to add in a vocabulary word to help indicate the action was done in the past.
For example:
Yo como tacos. (I eat tacos.)
Yo comí tacos AYER. (I ate tacos YESTERDAY.)
They could also translate the sentences into English for extra credit.
On the back side of the sheet is the continuation of practice from the Irregular Preterite Exercise Powerpoint. The 1st slide deals with the verbs “Ser/Ir”, the 2nd slide deals with the verb “Tener”, and the 3rd slide deals with the verb “Hacer” in which they must translate the question and answer for themselves.
Students had the entire class period on Thursday and Friday to complete the assignment. Students who were absent on Thursday may turn in the assignment on Monday.
