Description

Students enrolling in AP Studio Art must have completed Visual Arts/Comprehensive IV or other qualifying 3 units in visual arts and receive teacher recommendation.


Description: This course is designed for students who are seriously interested in the practice of art. This is a college credit class, the course assists students in preparing a portfolio. This portfolio reflects three areas of concern which include quality, concentration, and breadth. Students will create works demonstrating their range of art experience during the first semester through photography, digital design, printmaking, drawing, and multimedia.   During the second semester, students chose a visual theme to create a related body of arts which demonstrate depth of experience and their exploration process. Relationships between form and content, processes and materials are explored. Students are expected to submit their portfolio, which serves as their Advanced Placement examination in Studio Art, in the spring of the year of study. Students must purchase an art kit and hard-bound portfolio.Year long, full credit.
