9th Grade Literature and Composition is a year course that is designed for students who are reading on or above the 9th grade level and who are knowledgeable of the fundamentals of literature and composition. Students should be capable of completing outside reading and writing assignments as expectations of this course. Emphasis will be placed on studying literature through a thematic lens, focusing on analysis and comparison. There will also be emphasis on understanding themes in literature, studying English grammar and usage, writing in various styles and from multiple perspectives, introducing research skills, and developing appropriate vocabulary skills. This course is broken up into four 9-week units, two of those focusing on literary texts and two focusing on informational texts.

Discuss his strengths and his flaws in your argument. Textual evidence must be used to support your argument.
Students must type the essay using the MLA template listed below.
