Good Morning Burke County, Collin Waldrop and your watching bspn. Where I’m gonna give y'all weekly updates about all sports here at burke county high.  
Cross country competed at the Jenkins County meet at Magnolia Springs. 4 out of the 5 of the boys placed in the top 10.  They were Aaron Baulous, Elijah Price, Steffon Terrell, Caleb Price, and Samuel Abumere.
The girls also did pretty well with Hailey Thomas placing 2nd in the entire meet. Top 5 Girls were Hailey Thomas, Sarah Abumere, Emarea Jordan, LaKaja Young and Tori Martin. 
 The burke county softball team won the region championship Tuesday against thomson.
The Girls pulled out the first game 11-10 with Kam Parker hitting a bomb off of the New building. The second game was back and forth all night. The ladies mounted a charge in the 7th inning with Bailey Lovett starting it off with a double to the fence. Kylie Egan cleared the bases with a double that tied the game. Two walks later, Libby Ford came to the plate to get the hit to win. But the catcher let one slip and Kylie came home for the winning run as the ladies won 15-14 to clinch their first region championship under Coach Aaron Fera.

The varsity volleyball team is currently 9-7 there next game is next tuesday against ARC 
The 9th grade football played evans yesterday and beat thomson last week 28-21
The Football team will play the Effingham County tonight in Effingham The Football team is currently 3-1 after beating Evans last friday 37-17 and here’s a highlight video

she goes above and beyond for her students and co-workers as you all know homecoming is next week and if you haven't heard who your 2019-2020 candidates are for Cohort 2020 your candidates are Breanna Bynes, Megan Thomas, Temia Bonner, Javacia Cross, and Janessa Jones Cohort 2021 your candidates are Kamryn Parker, Maisey Norton and Zana Wesby Cohort 2022 your candidates are Jemerya Dixon, Karleigh Taylor, and Kennedy Walker Cohort 2023 your candidates are Jasmin Golphin, Rilyn Norton, and Va'Nija Sheppard girls next week is homecoming week which means you get to dressed up to show your school spirit and who doesn't like to dress up starting off the week on Monday the theme will be dress like the professional you want to be Tuesday's theme will be dress like your favorite superhero Wednesday's theme is theme is dress in your favorite sports gear Thursday's theme is hippie day and your theme for Friday is prepare for a black and blue night as we prepare to play Statesboro for our homecoming game and since next week is homecoming one of the events that will take place is the homecoming Powder Puff game the game between the senior and junior girls will take place on Wednesday October 2nd 2019 at 5:30 we'll have our male cheerleaders as well the game will take place in the stadium tickets will go on sale at lunch tickets in advance will be $2 and tickets at the gate will be currently selling items for breast cancer awareness these items have sold great in the past and have already started selling this season if you know of someone who is currently battling this illness we have a new bracelet that reads "I said a prayer for you" which is very fitting if you would like to purchase socks they're selling out fast with purchases from the girls basketball team and a few members of the football team FBLA members have order forms and will bring the item back to you as soon as they submit the forms and money all proceeds go to Burke Medical Center which benefits patients seen at the hospital and a portion is donated to Relay for Life Burke County the color run will be on October 5th 2019 at 9:30 a.m. the Burke County High School bear stage players are producing a night at 3 one act plays the September showcase 19 will be tomorrow September 28th at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium the evening's bill includes "Stage Parents", "Why We Like Love Stories", and "Interview" the Burke County High School region one act competition entry the tickets are $5 per person Drama Club members can pick up the tickets to the September Showcase from Mrs. Price or at the ticket table the night of the show do you Love math okay what about COMPETITIONS what about a CHALLENGE well "THE" Burke County High School is proud to announce that the 2019-2020 Math Team is now accepting applications come see what it's all about to celebrate National Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month the international Club will host a Zumba dance fitness event to teach salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and various dances that are done in Hispanic and Latino cultures join us at the school on Monday September 30th for an hour of fun, free food, and drinks in the mall area at 3 p.m. students and teachers are welcome dress comfortably and come in appropriate workout attire special education parent night will be next Monday on September 30th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. thank you for
