Greetings! I am pleased to be part of the Burke County family.
My family & I are from Florida. I have two adult children, Edward & Rebekah. Edward graduated from Davidson Fine Arts and then from Georgia Tech. He now lives in Atlanta and is a CPA. Rebekah also graduated from DFA, went to Atlanta College of Art, where she received her BA. She then went on to get her Masters in Architecture from Georgia Tech. She now lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband Vikram Sami, where both of them are licensed architects.
In Florida I taught 3rd grade and middle school Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. I moved to Augusta in 1998 where I continued to teach middle school Science & Social Studies. I was given the opportunity a few years ago to transition into teaching high school Environmental Science. I must say that I am blessed for this option. After teaching 27 years, I am still enjoying my choice of career. (By the way, I am a Gator, having graduated from University of Florida with my Masters in Education)
Our focus this year for Environmental Science will primarily be the related Physical Science and Biology within our environment. I am looking forward to this direct focus as it prepares our students for later studies.
My class schedule for all of my Environmental Science classes is as follows:
Tutoring: I am available for tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons by appointment only, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students will need to ask for a pass to come to my room before the date of requested tutoring. It is their responsibility to have transportation arranged after 3:30 p.m.
Materials required: 1 inch 3-ring binder with paper and dividers, blue or black ink pens or a mechanical pencil. Please replenish supplies before they are gone!
